Layered wood members will warp under the influence of climate change. Dimensional Changes in the individual layers cannot take place freely, because of being glued to subsequent layers that have different changes in dimensions. As a result, internal stresses built up that can lead to damages in the layered structure. A computation model of parabolic form was set up to approximate the real distribution of temperature and moisture content in the wood layers, better than the former linear model did. The parabolic model makes it possible to calculate internal stresses and strains caused by climatic changes in an arbitrary layered construction
