Influence of the composition of oils of recent biomass origin on the produced fuel
2003
Ragalyi, P. | Forro, E.
One of the possible utilies of the oils originating from recent biomass is to produce fuel. The quality of this fuel is highly determined by the fatty acid composition of the oil used for producing fuel. The main properties like density, cetane number and iodine number are responsible for the quality of the fuel, and are in correlation with the fatty acid composition and with each other. The free fatty acid content of the oils can make the production processes difficult, and can become a potential source of contaminants in the fuel.
