Effect of anaerob soil condition on the soil organic matter and N cycling

The plastic soil coverage is widely used in the intensive horticultural cultivation since it exerts favourable influence on the water-, thermal- and nutrient cycling of the soil and stimulates the development of plants. However, little is known about the anaerobic conditions developing under the soil coverage, about its effect on the soil and plants. In the present study we found that the soil coverage has several advantages in the cultivation technology, but its effect on the soil conditions and crop quality is not completely favourable.
