Effect of weather, variety and chemical control on parasitism on cleistothecia of Uncinula necator (Schw.) Burr. by Ampelomyces spp.
2002
Fuzi, I.
Surveys were conducted between 1997 and 2000 in south-Transdanubian vineyards to study the effect of the particular environmental factors on the incidence of Ampelomyces species on grapevine powdery mildew and parasitism on cleistothecia of Uncinula necator. It was concluded that summer and early autumn weather highly influence incidence of such mycoparasites. During this period rainy, humid and moderately warm conditions are favourable for their spread, while drought, very high air temperature and low relative humidity decrease it. Presence of the host fungus is essential for the increase of Ampelomyces populations.
