Distribution ability and the effectivity of Trichogrammatoidea bactrae-bactrae to control Etiella spp. podborer on soybean

anglais. Podborer, Etiella zinckenella, is one of the main pest on soybean. At the moment insecticide is the main control measure however insecticide sprays did not successfully control pod borer. T. bactrae-bactrae is a potential egg parasite for soybean pod borer and recently this parasite had been successfully reared artificially in the laboratory. The information of the distribution ability and the effectivity of the parasite in the field is needed to enhance the control of the pest, and therefore this study was undertaken. The eggs of rice moth Corcyra cephalonica were used as an alternative host. The result indicated that at the 50 m away from the inoculum, 28.3 percent of the total number of eggs were parasitized and 2 adults of parasite were caught in 10 times of sweeping. At 30 m from away the inoculum, 40.8 percent of total eggs were parasitized and 3 adults of parasitoid were caught. It was concluded that the longer the distance from the inoculum, the lower the number of the eggs parasitized. Starting at 45 days after planting and during the next 18 days was a proper time to release the parasite in every three days and 86 percent of Etiella sp. eggs were parasitized. The release of T. bactrae-bactrae reduced pod damage and increased pod yield by 32.3 percent

Hingga kini cara pengendaliannya masih mengandalkan insektisida, meskipun kenyataannya masih sering menemui kegagalan. Parasitoid telur Trichogrammatoidea bactrae-bactrae merupakan parasitoid yang sangat potensial untuk mengendalikan hama penggerek polong kedelai dengan menggunakan inang telur Corcyra cephalonica pada jarak hingga 50 m dari inokulum pias, parasitoid masih mampu memparasitasi sebesar 28,3 persen, dan dari contoh 10 ayunan jaring serangga tertangkap imago parasitoid T. bactrae-bactrae sebanyak 2 ekor. Tingkat parasitasi pada jarak 30 m dari sumber inokulum masih cukup tinggi yaitu sebesar 40,8 persen, dan imago parasitoid T. bactrae-bactrae yang tertangkap sebanyak 3 ekor/10 ayunan. Pelepasan parasitoid yang baik adalah sebanyak 1 juta ekor/ha untuk setiap pelepasan, 6 kali pelepasan dengan selang waktu 3 hari sejak tanaman kedelai berumur 45 hari. Pada perlakuan tersebut tingkat parasitasi telur mencapai 86 persen dan tidak berbeda dengan 4 kali pelepasan dengan selang waktu 6 hari. Pelepasan parasitoid T. bactrae-bactrae pada tanaman kedelai mampu menekan kerusakan polong akibat serangan hama penggerek polong Etiella sp. dan menekan kehilangan hasil sebesar 32.3 persen
