The project aimed to develop, evaluate, and select table and/or processing potatoes that are high yielding, adapted, and/or resistant to late blight. Findings showed that out of the 48 clones evaluated, ten were selected based on the superior/acceptable agronomic traits (tuber shape, skin color, depth of eyes, and texture) and yield. The yield of selected clones ranged from 9.72 to 46.03 t/ha. Selection was done jointly with the researchers and farmer/student partners. The yields obtained ranged from 5.4 to 16.71 t/ha. Late blight was not observed in all the clones evaluated. Based on the findings, clone 13.97.27 significantly out-yielded the check, Granola. The farmers, students and researchers jointly selected the best clones based on yield, tuber characteristics and resistance to pest. Results of on-farm yield trials at different locations showed that IP84004.7 significantly out-yielded the check variety, Igorota. In the trial conducted at Boslent, Atok, three entries (CM9, 13.8.1, and 13.1.1) in addition to IP84004.7 significantly out-yielded Igorota. As to the late blight resistance, these entries showed lesser or comparable late blight ratings with Igorota. However, the late blight incidence was not serious as shown by the low rating ranging from 1-3 except at Bonglo, Atok [Benguet, Philippines]. The late blight rating was done following the CIP rating scale of 1 to 9. Based on this results, the promising entry for recommendation to the seed board was IP84004.7, while 13.8.1, CMa, 13.1.1, and CM1 were for further evaluation. Potato Clone IP84004.7, introduced in the country from CIP, Lima, Peru as clone with TPS-7, the maternal parent, had these characteristics: round oval tuber yellow skin, 18% dry matter content, resistance to late blight (caused by Phytoptora infestans), yielded 17 to 30 t/ha, matured in 100-120 days, light yellow flesh and shallow eyes
