Corn production technology demonstration was conducted in key corn areas in Region 12 such as the provinces of Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Lanao del Norte [Philippines]. Component technologies demonstrated were on variety trial, fertilizer management, and minimum tillage. Among these component technologies, hybrid varieties gave the highest grain yield with an average of 5.32 t/ha during the wet season and 4.8 t/ha during the dry season. Fertilizer management, balanced fertilization, and minimum tillage gave average yields of 4.7, 4.2, 4.0 t/ha for wet; and 4.6, 4.0 and 4.2 t/ha for dry season, respectively. Cost and return analysis showed that minimum tillage technology gave the highest net income, P9,685.12 and P10,433.00 with returns on investment (ROI) of 101.78% and 105.2% for wet and dry seasons, respectively. For the varietal component, hybrid varieties gave a net income of P14,525.60 with an ROI of 82.30%, compared with the open pollinated varieties (OPV) with only P3,500.18 and an ROI of 28.90% for wet season. Results indicated that for small farmers who maximized land resources through minimum tillage, farming could reduce production cost, thereby increasing farm income. However, to efficiently utilize these introduced technologies, prospective adoptors should have adequate educational background, capital for inputs, and are highly motivated
