An exploration of organic matter status, fertilizer elements in Kakshai area from Pakistan

Extensive studies have been carried out to assess the organic matter status of soil in different soil types in Kakshai area for the provision of guidelines to farmers and researchers for better crop production. Different soil types of the area were collected, analyzed and classified for organic matter, pH, Density, hydrogen, oxygen, sulphur & nitrogen contents. Organic matter is essentially required for plant growth but its contents vary in different soil types. It is clear that the nitrogen is higher in limestone (2.00%) with weak alkaline condition. Sulphur contents are higher in sand stone (2.00%). Oxygen contents are higher in shale (10.00%) which is considered to be suitable for plant growth as it has low conductivity and neutral pH. Organic contents are higher in shale carbonate (1.21%). Fertilizer recommendations were advised the farmers according to soil conditions.
