Khan, N.
An experiment was conducted to assess the effect of seeding rates in the growth and yield of two wheat varieties at Agronomy Experimental fields, Agriculture Research Institute, Tandojam during winter, 1998-99. Two wheat varieties (TJ-83 and Anmol) were planted under various seeding rates (75, 100, 125, 150 and 175 kg/ha) in a four replicated randomized complete block design (factorial). A 2*3 meter plot area was maintained. Observation were recorded on grain yield and its related characters were subjected to analysis of variance, to discriminate the superiority of mean values LSD test was applied. The findings of the experiment. Seed index weight of 100 grains showed significant difference among rice varieties However maximum seed index 515.50g was recorded under rice variety Shadab followed by Latif which gave 445.99g. Minimum seed index 393.38g was received from variety KS-282. Seed index weight f 100 grains showed significant difference among rice varieties However maximum seed index 515.50 g was recorded under rice variety Shadab followed by Latif which gave 445.99 g Minimum seed index-: 393.38 g was received from variety KS-282. Grain yield was positively correlated with all yield-contributing factors. Significantly greater grain yield 7667 kg ha was obtained from variety Shadab followed by Latif and DR-83, which yielded 7000 and 6667 kg/ha. When different, varieties were compared regarding yield. It was found no significant difference among the varieties Latif and DR-83 after being statistically analyzed. Minimum grains yield 5667 kg/ha. was obtained under variety of KS-282
