The conditions for the investigation were those of the increase of CO2 concentration to the level of 800 micro mol CO2/mol. The cultivars under investigation reacted to the increase of atmospheric CO2 concentration by an increase in blade thickness and area. The changes in the content of carbohydrates in leaf blades and petiole depended on the tomato cultivar
