Yielding and quality of Festulolium braunii (K. Richter) A. Camus mixture with red clover and lucerne on arable lands

The experiments were carried out in 1997-98 on arable land. In the year of full utilization the yields and nutritive value were assessed for the mixtures of following seed mixture composition: M1 -Festulolium cv. Sulino 35, Phleum pratense cv. Obra 15, Trifolium pratense cv. Ulka 50; M2 - Festulolium braunii cv. Sulino 28, Phleum pratense cv. Obra 15, Medicago sativa cv. Sitel 57. Examined mixtures were characterized by a high yielding potential. Dry matter yields from four cuts amounted to 14.36 and 13.36 t/ha respectively. High crude protein content and optimal concentrations of fibre and mineral compounds indicate their high usability in feeding dairy cattle on the experimental farm where the recorded annual milk yields reached approximately 8 000 litres
