A laboratory experiment on the effects of rotary motion of tillage elements on soil structure was carried out. Six typical topsoils from southern Moravia were analysed. Soil aggregate composition was determined by the pipette method. In the humus horizons of light textured soils of Arenosol and Cambisol, small changes in soil structure were recorded because the structure was weakly developed. In the topsoils of Luvisol, Chernozem, Fluvisol and Vertisol, soil structure was kept in better condition after 240 min of the steel prism rotation than original structure of Arenosol and Cambisol. Soils with the high content of clay particles are more resistant to the mechanical disturbance of soil structure
