The aim of the work was to estimate the influence of environmental conditions on the content of different forms of iron in rendzinas situated above the upper tree lomit in the Tatra National Park. Rendzinas under grass were characterised by a higher contribution of bounded iron (Fegk) in total content of iron than crystalline iron (Fekr). In rendzinas under dwarf pine an inverted correlation has been estimated - the content of crystalline iron was much higher than bounded iron
