The effects of two cytokinins N6-6-(3-hydroxybenzyl) adenine (meta-topolin, m-topolin) and N6-benzyladenine (BAP) were compared in micropropagation of four plant species: Rosa hybrida L. 'White Gem', Actinidia chinensis Planch. (male plants), Magnolia x soulangeana Lindl. and Coccoloba uivifera L. These species have been found as difficult to root in vitro. The microcuttings of actinidia, coccoloba and magnolia developed on medium with m-topolin rooted better and the in survival in greenhouse was higher than those noted for microcuttings derived from medium with equimolar concentration of BAP (5 microM). M-topolin had negstive effect on quality of rose shoots which were chlorotic and rooted poorly like those derived from medium with BAP
