The protease supplementation to high protein (HP) diet did not affect the apparent ileal digestibility (AID) values of amino acids (AA), but increased these values in the low protein (LP) diet. Although protease supplementation to the LP diet increased the AID of crude protein (CP) and AA, this difference was not sufficient to match the digestible AA supply by the HP diet. Protease supplementation did not affect either performance of growing pigs fed the sorghum- or the wheat-based diets. The level of CP in sorghum-soyabean meal diets affects the AID of CP and AA; AA in LP diets are less digestible than those in HP diets. Pigs fed the LP, sorghum-based diet performed poorer than pigs fed the HP, but the dietary protein level did not affect the performance of pigs fed the wheat-based diets
