Spectrofluorometric determination of formaldehyde in alcoholic beverages with the use of Fluoral-P

The methanal (formaldehyde) content of 53 different alcoholic drinks and 3 methanol samples was determined using a spectrofluorometric method with Fluoral-P. The working range was between 0.005 and 0.5 mg/cubic dm, the lower methanal concentration being the determination limit of the method. Both random and systematic errors were examined i discussed.
