Seven winter wheat varieties have been studied for the effect of conditions of growing on the contents of macro- and microelements in grain. Identical sets of varieties have been grown in two locations, on the chernozem soil in the vinicity of Novi Sad and on the vertisol in the vinicity of Kragujevac (Serbia, Serbia&Montenegro). The obtained results have shown that the varieties were specific with regard to the dependence of their contents of macro- and microelements in grain on the heritage, i.e. variety, ecological conditions and interactions among them. In general, the content of mineral elements in grain was specific for certain agroecological conditions. Significant interactions were found between variety and location with regard to the contents of some elements.
