Roughness coefficients for dense seed cereal

Calculation of surface runoff on soils is usually required for design of erosion control measures. In equations that are used for these calculations a roughness may be expressed by roughness coefficient n. The values of coefficient n are obviously given in tables and graphs. In this article author present the results of experimental measurements of n value for dense seed cereal with respect to slope and direction of seeding. The obtained values of roughness coefficient n are within the range of n values used in practice at the present time. In some cases the results may be influenced by the residues of plants that remain on the soil surface or transported bigger soil particles and this way may affect the n value.
