Traits of maize seeds stored in various types of packing were investigated in the present study. The seed of six parental inbred lines and four F1 hybrid combinations of ZP commercial hybrids, stored in polyethylene (PVC) bags, one-ply paper bags or three-ply paper bags for three and five years, was studied. Obtained results show that the initial differences in inbred traits remained during storing and that a genotype is the most important factor of changes. Moreover, depending on the mode of packing, the investigated traits changed during the storage period. The worst way to store the seed was to keep it in the three-ply paper bags.
