Determination of the optimum weight for fattening young bulls of Simental breed

Study was carried out with 20 non-castrated bulls of Simental breed. It was found that production input increased with the increase of the fattening weight. So at live mass of 500 kg they were with 28.67% higher compared to calves fattened to 450 kg, and for calves fattened to 550 kg and 600 kg - with 58.74% and 94.74% respectively. The profit rate from fattening of calves upto 450 kg live weight was 77.46%, upto 500 kg - 65.56% and upto 550 kg and 600 kg - 61.26% and 47.83% respectively. It was found that the fattening of calves to 450 kg live mass was the most effective one. The rate of profitability decreased from 77.46% to 47.83% with the increase of the live mass from 450 kg to 600 kg.
