This paper presents the results of a survey on the sensitivity of two strains of Streptomyces tenebrarius (produsing and non-produsing) to different stress factors such as carbohydrate and nitrogen limitation, oxygen deficiency and strain adaptation in early and middle-exponential growth phase. Changes were revealed in the specific activity of certain enzymes such as hexokinase. malate dehydrogenase, two transaminases, catalase and peroxidase. These changes in the enzymatic activity were expressed in temporary increase or decrease.
