[Peculiarities of the range of species and the ecology of midges (Diptera, Ceratopogonidae) on the Curonian Spit

The 11 species of Ceratopogonidae (Diptera) have been recorded on the Curonian Spit. The data on the abundance of blood-sucking midges, its biothop distribution, seasonal activity and the role of Culicoides as a vector of Parahaemosporidia are discussed
