Observation of underground water level in the area of forest estate "Sremska Mitrovica" [Serbia, Serbia&Montenegro] during 2000 and 2001

Underground water level was monitored in the area of "Jasensko-Belilo", which belongs to the Forest Estate "Sremska Mitrovica" (Serbia, Serbia&Montenegro). This paper presents the results measured by two piezometers during 2000 and 2001. The piezometers were set up in 1999 approximately perpendicularly to the river Sava forming the profile No 1. The results show the extremely low water levels during 2000, which are critical for the existing forest vegetation in the area.
