Radonja, P. (Institut za sumarstvo, Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro))
In this paper, plant heights of two-year and fifteen-year Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) proveniences from USA, that originate from different altitude are analyzed. The heights of two-year Douglas-fir are measured in the arboretum of the Faculty of Forestry in Belgrade and fifteen-year Douglas-fir on location Tanda. Including proveniences from New Mexico is important in view of get a general model of plant height of Douglas-fir versus origine altitude of proveniences. It can be seen that in a monitoring of introduction of Douglas-fir, neural networks based models can be used, very effectively. A two layers neural network based on the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm and radial basis function neural networks are used in process of modeling and monitoring.
