There are presented indicators of the intensity and characteristics of the siltation process by river sediment in certain water reservoirs used for energy production in Serbia. Furthermore, an attempt is made to formulate guidelines on the basis of domestic and international experience, which should be used in planning, design, and operation of water reservoirs in this region.
