Radioactivity of foodstuff in Novi Sad [Serbia&Montenegro]

Typical foods that are monitored by gamma-spectrometric measurements include dairy products, grains, fruit and vegetable products, and meat products and other miscellaneous items include tea, salt, mineral water, cacao, etc. The activity concentration of 20 radionuclides in each sample which arise from nuclear fallout and naturally-occurring radionuclides such as 40K, 226Ra and other radionuclides in the uranium and thorium decay chains was measured. The average radiation dose due to ingestion is estimated only for radionuclide 40K for all foodstuff group.
