The adsorptive complex of many local soil types is saturated with hydrogen ions. Because of their acidy reaction, hydrogen ions are destructive for these soils. To be improved, these soils should be calcified using saturation mud from sugarbeet refineries. This would solve two problems in one swath: refineries would be relieved of useless by-products and soil quality would be improved. The objective of this investigation, carried out in Mitscherlich pots, was to examine the effect of saturation mud and nitrogen added to the heavy limeless soil on the yield components of winter wheat in order to determine their optimum doses for maximum yield.
