Competitiveness of Estonian milk production

The present paper analyses the competitiveness of Estonian milk production in comparison with selected CEEC (Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic) and EU (Germany, Finland) countries. The farm level competitiveness is analysed on the basis the IFCN Dairy database of typical farms in 2001. Cost analysis shows that the competitive advantage of Estonian milk production bases on relatively low costs, but the disadvantage is low productivity of production factors
