Effect of N, P2O5, and K2O Application Rates and Top Dressing Time on Growth and Yield of Onion(Allium Cepa L.) under Spring Culture in Low Land

The experiment was executed to determine N, P2O5, and K2O application rates and top dressing time on growth and yield of onion under spring culture in lowland. The chemical properties of soil experimented were pH 6.0, 23.5 g ¡¤ kg-1 organic matter, 222 mg ¡¤ kg-1 available P2O5. Soil pH at harvest lowered and available P2O5 increased as N level increased. At plant maturity, plant height in 240 kg ¡¤ ha-1 N level was 73.2 cm, the highest of all, and bulb diameter in 180 kg ¡¤ ha-1 N kevel was 55.6 mm, the largest of all, but the growth showed no significant difference among P2O5 and K2O application rates. The chlorophyll contents increased as N level increased and in case of P2O5, the chlorophyll content was 0.47 mg ¡¤ kg-1 in 80 kg ¡¤ ha-1 level, more than any other level. N level for the maximal marketable yield was 120 kg ¡¤ ha-1 and the yield was 22.9 ton ¡¤ ha-1. P2O5 level was 80 kg ¡¤ ha-1 and the yield was 23.8 ton ¡¤ ha-1.
