Kaktins, J. (Latvia Univ. of Agriculture, Jelgava (Latvia). Faculty of Economics. Dept. of Economics) | Arhipova, I.
The object of the research is to control possibilities for the risk consequences caused by committing offences in the area of forestry for different size farms having wood land in property. The process of risk control includes the following steps: initiation, scope definition, risk assessment, risk analysis, risk control, risk monitoring, learning, and stakeholder participation. The main reasons causing negative consequences of risk in agricultural forests are overall economic situation in the country, especially in the countryside, leading to high unemployment and lack of income to meet the most necessary needs. In addition forest owners lack knowledge of their forest as a multifunctional asset, the accounting of timber is not under control and law enforcement institutions are not capable to prevent thefts of timber and illegal logging.
