Response of cotton under high and low NP levels
2002
Babar, J.A.
An experiment, to study the Response of Cotton Under High and Low NP Levels on the growth and yield of cotton variety Shahbaz-95 was conducted Cotton Section, Agriculture Research Institute, Tandojam during summer 2000- 2001. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design, ultimate plot size 10m x 7m, having four replications. The fertility levels were; F1=0-0, F2=56-28, F3=112-56 and F4=224-112. All the traits were highly significantly affected by fertility levels. Application of maximum amount of NP fertilizer kg/ha produced taller plants of 91.20 cm. more number of sympodial branches (15.46) per plant, higher number of bolls (26.47) per plant. Maximum seed cotton yield 60.18 g per plant and per hectare (1929.34 kg), higher seed index (7.71 and also higher GOT % (32.98) in cotton variety Shahbaz-95 were obtained under higher level of NP kg/ha under agro climatic conditions of Tandojam.
