Hamid, F.S. | Ahmad, T. (National Tea Research Inst., PARC, Shinkiari (Pakistan))
Soil survey in Pakkhal valley of District Mansehra conducted during 1999. Thirty-three different sites were selected in the surrounding areas of National Tea Research Institute (NTRI), Shinkiari, Mansehra and collected the soil samples up to depth of 45 cm with an interval of 15 cm. The samples were analyzed and evaluated for their suitability for tea plantation in the area. Most of the area has a potential for tea plantation and has the suitable soil pH and other essential nutrients. The soil having pH 6.5-7.0 can be brought to the desired level with the amelioration/supplementation of ammonium sulphate or sulphur.
