Opthalmic problems in diabetic patients: a statistical study

Odds ratio analysis were performed to look at the association of diabetic retinopathy with Duration of diabetes, Type of diabetes, Hypertension, Intra Ocular Pressure (IOP), Age, Sex, and Family history of diabetes. The analysis suggested that longer duration of diabetes, Type-2 diabetes, hypertension and old age (40 years or more) were significant risk factors for the occurrence of diabetic retinopathy, whereas Intra Ocular Pressure (IOP), Sex and Family history were not significant risk factors.
