In Balochistan's ecosystem there exists a great deal of biotic, physical, cultural and ethnic diversity. There is also a lot of variation in topography, rainfall, vegetation and farming systems which do not permit making up of any generalization compared to these of in the plain area. Some farmers on the high lands and plains have fit the fodder crops in the cropping system according to agro-climatic conditions. Article describes potential of fodder crops especially lucerne, oats, berseem, sorghum, millets and maize in Balochistan. It also describes its production limitations and future strategies for the improvement of fodder production in Balochistan with emphasis on research and extension services.
