International cooperation of regions in the environment of globalization

Crossborder cooperation of regions is an answer to the contemporary world economy that develops under the influence of two trends. Those are: the processes of globalization on one hand and regionalization on the other. Those trends are among the most important factors for establishment of crossborder cooperation between regions. The paper aims at presenting the major reasons for initiation of crossborder cooperation with particular focus on the current effects and opportunities of such cooperation in Polish border areas
