Barriers, fears and expected benefits connected with the integration process

The main goal of the paper is presentation some fears and hopes of rural areas inhabitants connected with Poland's accession to the European Union. In 2000 at the Department of Organization and Consumption Economics a questionnaire research was carried out. General population consisted of 500 adults respondents. The sample from rural areas was 183 persons (36,60 percent). Empirical research data has shown that rural inhabitants were generally for Poland's integration with European Union (about 40 percent). They afraid that in future after accession, the financial situation of Polish households and condition of agricultural and industry will be worse
