Response of open-pollination and hybrid winter rye grown in good wheat complex soil to some agronomic factors

The paper describes the response of winter rye cultivars Warko and Esprit F1 in medium soils to delayed sowing date, macro- and microelements fertilization and weed control. The contribution of each yield component to the production of yield was also determined. Hybrid rye cultivar Esprit yielded by an average 19 percent higher than the population cultivar Warko. Under the conditions of a very long autumnal vegetative period a delayed sowing date turned out to be more beneficial for yield formation. NPK fertilization reduced by half affected negatively the yield of both cultivars, which was on average 6.9 dt/ha lower. High competitiveness of both breeding cultivars to segetal plants was made evident. Analysis of path coefficients proved that the yield of the open pollination rye was determined by the number of ears per 1 square m and 1000 kernels weight. The dominant role in creation yield of hybrids played weight of 1000 kernels
