Some effects such as soil factors (soil moisture characteristics curve, soil moisture content) and meteorological factor (atmospheric temperature) on plant water use in recharge and discharge areas of Khon Kaen University were studied. Soil moisture characteristic curves of the two areas were different. When the same matric potential was applied, the two areas showed different soil moisture contents. Discharge area had higher soil moisture content due to fine-textured soil accumulation was transported from recharge area to discharge area in which plants had more water use than those in recharge area. Plant water use in both areas varied with atmospheric temperature increment.
