Studied on the distribution of heavy metals in the sediments of Bung Boraped Swamp (after its renovation) were carried out from November 1992 to April 1993. Mean concentrations of Zn, Pb and Cd were found to be at normal levels being 18.51, 12.99 and 0.12 mg/g respectively. Cu was found at 23.50 micro g/g which was slightly higher than the normal level for earth sediments. Monthly variations in concentration of all metals in this study were not significantly different. However, Pb was the only metal that showed a trend of increasing concentrations between January and April 1993. The distribution of Pb was also found to have highly significant correlation to the total organic content in sediments.
