Field experiment to study the potential of hybrid sorghum productivity on 5 soil series were carried out at Nakhon Sawan Field Crops Research Center during August and September 1997. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with 4 replications. Treatments consisted of 7 sorghum varieties grown on 5 soil series. Results from the experiment showed that KU. 9502 produced the highest yield of 682 kg/rai, whereas Pioneer 8118, Pioneer 8586, KU 9501, Cargill 111, SP 60 and Pacific 80 produced seed yield of 641, 587, 587, 576, 569 and 485 kg/rai, respectively. Yield of sorghum grown on mid August was higher than those grown on mid September. On the potential of different soil series, Samo Thod, Lop Buri and Takhli showed high sorghum productivity, while Thab Kwang and Wang Hai soil series produced low seed yield.
