Study on the influence of some biologically active substances upon ethereal oil crops - coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.)

Research involved determination of the effect of some BAS on seed yield, essential and oil content in ethereal oil crops, namely coriander. Oil fraction is within 17-24% and is used for soap, paint and varnish manufacturing. Essential oil content is within 0.3-1.2% with specific flavor and is used in pharmaceutical, perfumery and canning industries. It was established that plant growth regulators XP-55(20ml/da) and PB-31(30ml/da) had positive effect on the parameters studied. PB-31 in a dose of 30 ml/da increased essential oil content with 8.7%, oil-with 6.3% and yield with 11.5% in comparison to the control on the average for the whole trial period.
