Comparative assessment of statistical descriptors for the qualitative analysis of eggs

In the present work, an assessment is done on the 1-D (one-dimensional) statistical descriptors of scanned image fragments of chicken eggs in a search for the presence of defects. This research is directed towards finding the appropriate instrumentation for the objective and rapid identification of egg quality. This research will be the basis for the development of automated systems for sorting eggs according to their quality characteristics.
