The present paper represents the arising in chemical characteristics of alluvial meadow soil (Fluvisol) changes as a result of long manuring with sewage sludge in intensive vegetables cultivation. The sewage sludge supplied from the Sofia Waste Water Treatment Plant did not contain heavy metals in toxic concentration. The changes in the pH values and some elements' content were established after 6 years manuring of soils with sludge. The available macroelements content increased as that of total and available Zn. Regardless of the fact that heavy metals content remained non toxic (below the limit-permissible concentrations) during the studied period the registered additional soil loading with Zn have to be consider in sewage sludge amount calculating.
