The present paper deals with the clayey minerals content and their profile allocation in reclaimed lands at the "Chukurovo" mine region. The main minerals constructing the clayey fraction of reclamed lands are: kaolinite, (hydro)micas and montmorilonite. Chlorite, complex minerals and fine granulated quartz barely occurred. Hydromicas and kaolinite were predominant in the "Mlada gvardia" heap. Clayey minerals content in depth varied in a close interval. Vivid differentiation in their profile allocation was observed in the "Zapad" heap. Kaolinite predominated in the surface layers (0-5, 5-20 cm) which are followed by the ones with different montmorilonite content. The presence of kaolinite and micas increased with increasing the silt fraction content. This is presumably linked with the content of pure clays which are richer in these minerals than the montmorilonite. The last predominant in loom and loamy sand varieties, where it presumably appears as binding element due to its higher dispersion and plasticity.
