Effect of the probiotic Lactina supplemented to the diet of sukling lambs

18 male and female suckling lambs (twins of the Ill de France breed) were allocated in to 2 analogous groups. The lambs were fed ad libitum on meadow hay and concentrate mix, containing corn meal and sunflower meal in a ration 50:50. In addition the experimental animals received daily oral supplement (150 mg) the Bulgarian probiotic Lactina disolved in water. During the 46 day long experiment control lambs had average daily gain of 0.274 kg and experimental lambs showed 5 higher daily gain - 0.293 kg (P0.05).
