Development of immunofluorescence - based virus neutralization test for the detection of antibodies to chicken anemia virus
2005
Simeonov, K. | Dyumanova, L.
A novel immunofluorescence-virus neutralization microtest (VNIF) based on the immunofluorescent detection of virus antigens in cells, inoculated with virus/antibody mixtures was developed for determination of neutralizing antibodies against chicken anemia virus (CAV). The infected cell cultures were subpassaged once, and 48 h thereafter tested for the presence of residual virus in neutralizing mixtures using direct immunofluorescent test (IT). The VNIF system have the advantages to be more objective and rapid than the classical virus neutralization and could succesfully be used for large-scale serological monitoring of CAV infection.
