The Pesticide and Environmental Research Centre has recently celebrated its 45th anniversary (1959-2004). This publication intends to give a brief overview of the activities and scientific achievements over the past 45 years - i.e. in the first 32 years of work as part of the Institute for the Application of Nuclear Energy in Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine and Forestry (INEP) and, since 1992, as part of the Agricultural Research Institute SERBIA. The Centre has over the period achieved appreciable results in fundamental, applied and developmental research in the areas of agriculture, plant protection and public health. More than 1000 research papers have been published in journals and books of proceedings, or reported to domestic and international conferences. Over 50 MSc and PhD theses have been prepared, and quite a few experts have been trained for professional and research work in other scientific and educational institutions, chemical industry and public health services. This publications contains the bibliography the above mentioned MSc and PhD theses.
