Food additives usage and labeling of milk and milk products

Our new regulation on quality and conditions of use of food additives is completely harmonized with EU legislative concerning the list of approved additives, E-numbers system, categorization, quality and conditions of use of additives in foods. It represents the part of widely accepted European legislative system whose purpose is to obtain the free market of foodstuffs having in the same time in mind the food safety and protection of consumers health. New Serbian legislative on food labeling is harmonized with several EU Directives and set rules that help producers to provide consumers with accurate and detailed information about product. Nutrition labeling is not mandatory except when a nutritive content claim is present. Producers of milk products especially can benefit from the new and well-defined possibility of making products more attractive by pointing at their desirable nutritional profiles.
