Petroleum and natural gas represent both energy and technological foundation of modern civilization. Every year, greater and greater petroleum and natural gas reserves are being identified worldwide. The FR of Yugoslavia disposes of certain petroleum and natural gas reserves, the production of which is limited and failed to meet domestic requirements. Exploration degree of petroleum and gas reserves in Yugoslavia is not satisfactory. More intensified exploration works in the country are therefore indispensable as well as the concessions connecting based on long-term arrangements abroad, what certainly would reduce enormous import dependence.
