Desde principios de la década de 1990, se están registrando aumentos en los niveles de infestación causados por el xilófago Xylotrechus arvicola (Olivier) (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) en La Rioja y otras zonas vitícolas españolas, de Navarra, Castilla-León y Castilla-La Mancha. En el presente trabajo se han evaluado los efectos de acortamiento del racimo y disminución del número de flores por racimo provocados por la acción del coleóptero en tres parcelas de la variedad Tempranillo, situadas en La Rioja Alta y Alavesa.

A heavy increase of symptoms caused by Xylotrechus arvicola (Olivier) (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) in La Rioja vineyards and other Spanish grapevine growing areas, belonging to Navarra, Castilla-León y Castilla-La Mancha, is being detected from 1990. The effects caused by the coleopteran on the shortening of the length of the bunches and number of flowers by bunch in three plots of the cv. Tempranillo situated in La Rioja have been evaluated in the present paper.
